The primary objectives of the School Kit Distribution Program were:
To provide essential school supplies (bags, notebooks, pens, pencils, etc.) to 500 students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds.
To alleviate the financial burden on families struggling to afford educational necessities.
To enhance student engagement and participation in classroom activities.
Boost students' self-esteem.
To contribute to the reduction of school dropout rates by ensuring students have the basic tools for learning.
Beneficiary region
The School Kits were distributed to Adolescent girls from Kishori Vikas Prakalp situated in Mahad, Mangaon, Palghar, Navi Mumbai and Thane region.
Summary Report
School Kit is a flagship project of the Seva Sahayog Foundation. We distribute thousands of school kits yearly to government-aided school students. This project has four stages. Education is one of the most powerful tools for empowering adolescent girls and shaping a brighter future for communities. The Kishori Vikas Prakalp centres under Seva Sahayog Foundation aim to nurture the holistic development of young girls from under-resourced backgrounds—supporting not only their academic growth but also their confidence, health, and life skills. Many beneficiaries from the Mahad, Mangaon, Palghar, Navi Mumbai, and Thane regions face socio-economic barriers that make access to even basic educational materials a challenge. Through the School Kit Distribution initiative, we sought to ease this burden and ensure that no girl is held back due to a lack of essential learning resources. Providing these school kits symbolizes our collective commitment to creating an encouraging learning environment where every adolescent girl can pursue her education with dignity, enthusiasm, and hope.
This year, School kits were distributed in 22 Kishori Vikas Prakalp centres (Adolescents girls Holistic development centers) from Mahad, Mangaon, Palghar, Navi Mumbai and Thana regions, this centres are run by Seva Sahayog Foundation and assemblies were conducted in Navi Mumbai. A total of 500 kits were distributed to the Primary & Secondary students.
Impact
Increased Access to Education: The provision of school kits directly addressed a critical barrier for students who otherwise might struggle to attend school due to lack of supplies.
Reduced Financial Strain: Families expressed immense gratitude for the relief provided by the kits, allowing them to allocate their limited resources to other essential needs like food and healthcare.
Positive Learning Environment: The program fostered a more equitable learning environment where students feel supported and equipped for their educational journey.
