Description
We are requesting support to deploy the following in 22 BMC schools in Mumbai,
creating a holistic ecosystem of learning and well-being for children aged 7 to 13:
1. Gyan-key Classroom Library (Classes 3 & 4)
Each school receives two classroom library sets — one for Class 3 and one for Class 4 - curated with age-appropriate books designed to build the five foundational skills: read, write, speak, listen, and think.
2. Fit-key Basketball Kit
Each school receives a complete basketball kit – balls and a hoop, - enabling structured physical activity for children. Sport builds discipline, teamwork, and
resilience while providing the mental health outlet that children urgently need.
Expected Outcomes
1. Improved foundational literacy and communication skills among students of Classes 3 and 4.
2. Increased access to age-appropriate reading material in 22 BMC schools.
3. Enhanced student participation in structured sports and physical activity.
4. Improved teamwork, discipline, confidence, and mental well-being among children.
5. Direct benefit to approximately 2,000–3,000 children through an integrated education and wellness intervention.
6. Creation of a more engaging, holistic, and supportive school environment
